Hollyhock
Hollyhock (Alcea) — Biennial or short-lived perennial. The old-fashioned favorite flower of a cutting garden. Place at the back of the garden because the hollyhock can grow to 9 feet! Hollyhocks bloom in summer and if reseeded, bloom again in the fall. Prefers full sun.
Bachelor Buttons

Bachelor Buttons (Centaurea) — Annual. Blooms spring to midsummer in a range of colors including blue, pink, rose, red and white. It grows to 1 to11/2 feet. Prefers full sun.

Dahlia
Dahlia — Flowers of many forms, colors and sizes. Most dahlias are started from tuberous roots planted after frost in spring, but also can be found already pot planted. Dahlias are summer bloomers. Prefers full sun/part shade.
Delphinium
Delphinium — Perennial, sometimes grown as a biennial or annual. A most common delphinium color is blue, but they also come in white, shades of red, pink, lavender and purple. In warm climates, you can plant small transplants in the fall for late spring and summer blooming. In colder climates, transplants are planted until summer for late summer blooming.
Foxglove

Foxglove (Digitalis) — Perennial and biennial. Another garden favorite excellent for cutting, foxglove should be planted in the center to back of a garden bed. The flower spikes are lined with tubular flowers in white, purple, yellow, pink and other color combinations. Foxglove blooms in spring into early summer. Prefers full sun to part shade.

Blanket Flower
Blanket Flower (Gaillardia) — Perennial. Gaillardia is a low growing daisy-form flower in yellow, bronze, scarlet colors. Blooms in summer. Prefers full sun.
Baby's Breath
Baby’s Breath (Gypsophylla) — Perennial. Very commonly found as a delicate filler in flower bouquets, Baby’s Breath grows to 3 feet and would be best planted toward the back of the garden bed.
Rose
Rose — Evergreen shrub and/or vine. The rose is the 'Queen of the Garden.' There many roses available.
Rudbeckia

Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia) — Rudbeckia is a daisy-like flower borne on a strong stem for cutting. This is a summer bloomer. Prefers full sun.

Daisy

Shasta Daisy (Chrysanthemum) — Perennial. Shasta daisy, the classic daisy with white petals and yellow centers. Shasta daisies bloom in summer. This plant grows in clumps and can be divided in the fall.

Veronica Speedwell

Veronica Speedwell — Perennial. Veronica is available in multiple colors including white, rose, pink and/or blue. Some varieties of Veronica are groundcovers, and other varieties grow up to two feet. Of course, the taller ones are the best selection for your cutting garden. Veronica can be used in borders and rock gardens.
